Our start up software utility client is seeking detail-oriented and dependable Part-Time Bookkeeper to support daily finance operations. This role will focus primarily on accounts payable processing, daily cash postings, and month-end account reconciliations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, accurate, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, or a similar accounting role
- Experience working in a start-up or fast-paced business environment preferred
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
- Proficiency with Excel (advanced), Bill.com, NetSuite, and BREX
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage accounts payable, including reviewing, coding, and entering vendor invoices
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of bills in accordance with company policies
- Perform daily cash postings, including recording deposits and reconciling transactions
- Maintain accurate and well-organized financial records and supporting documentation
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations as needed
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries and issue resolution
- Support month-end close activities related to payables and cash
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting procedures
